Prof. Riccardo d'Agostino (1942-2018)

The plasma chemistry community is deeply saddened by the passing of Prof. Riccardo d’Agostino, Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro, in April 2018. Prof. d’Agostino was the recipient of the Plasma Chemistry Award in 2007 and was a true inspiration over many decades in the field of chemical processes in plasmas and their transfer to the industrial scale. He was also an outstanding mentor for generations of scientists, who will now carry his legacy into the future. The International Plasma Chemistry Society owes a debt of gratitude to Prof. d’Agostino for his outstanding service to our community, especially his chairing of two ISPC conferences, in Pugnochiuso in 1989 and in Taormina in 2003. We have lost not only a great scientist, but also a very charming and generous personality, whom we will miss greatly.
